2K Announces New Commentators for NBA 2K25, Including Charania, Hurtwitz, and Van Gundy

NEW YORK (AP) — Video game publisher 2K has announced that several prominent commentators and announcers will join the NBA 2K25 lineup for the first time, promising to bring unprecedented depth and realism to the popular basketball simulation game.

NBA Insider Shams Charania, known for breaking some of the biggest stories in basketball, will provide transaction news and trade reports that reflect real-life roster updates and franchise trades in NBA 2K25. In addition to delivering insider news, Charania will also make guest commentary appearances alongside established voices like Kevin Harlan, enhancing the game’s dynamic commentary experience. He will also appear in the MyCAREER mode through his social media videos, further integrating his presence into the virtual NBA world.

For fans of the Golden State Warriors, NBA 2K25 will feature Historic Warriors PA Announcer Matt Hurtwitz as the game introduces the “Steph Era” in MyNBA mode. Players can relive the Warriors’ legendary 2016 season with Stephen Curry, complete with the iconic sound and atmosphere of the team’s home games, courtesy of Hurtwitz.

NBA broadcaster Stan Van Gundy also joins the commentary team, bringing his extensive coaching knowledge and broadcast experience to the game. Van Gundy will be part of a diverse lineup of commentators that includes Kevin Harlan, Greg Anthony, Brian Anderson, Grant Hill, Doris Burke, Brent Barry, Richard Jefferson, Clark Kellogg, and Mike Fratello, adding depth and perspective to the game’s presentation.

Early Tip-Off access for NBA 2K25 begins September 4 for those who pre-order, with additional announcements expected in the coming weeks as the release date approaches.
