The singer-actress appeared on “The Real” talk show as a guest host and announced that she no longer has an interest in marriage. Her last public relationship was with Ryan Press. The two were engaged back in 2012 and then later split in April 2014.
“I’m so satisfied being…being by myself. I love it. I’ve never taken this much time on myself. I don’t date…I haven’t been on a date in like a year.”
When asked why by co-host Adrienne Bailon (whom recently called off her engagement to longtime beau Lenny Santiago), Brandy stated:
“Well, because, um…I don’t know. I just like me right now. I just like the way it feels being by myself and taking care of my daughter and just doing my thing. I’m all about my career right now. I don’t want to go down that road…I know I don’t want to. Yes.”
During an interview with Uptown magazine, the singer discussed why she never married Press.
“Ryan and I were just two completely different people and we found that out when we were already in love with each other. Sometimes it happens. It hurt him, it hurt me and it hurt my daughter. It was a really hard time and another phase of the sadness that was a cloud for a while.”
Brandy also admitted that her failed relationship caused her to become depressed and it took a toll on her body. When speaking about new relationships, she reveals:
“I will not mix business with pleasure anymore. I think that’s one of the things that does not work for me. I get confused about who a person is. That’s one of the things that I know that I will never ever do if I am ever to have time or make time for another relationship. I want to keep my business and my personal separate.
