The beautiful and talented Danielle Moné Truitt of BET’s new breakthrough police drama Rebel graces the cover of the April issue of Urban Magazine.
“As the lead character of BET’s new cop drama REBEL, Danielle Moné Truitt takes on arguably one of the most relevant and important roles on the small screen. At a time when black women are facing tremendous challenges, oft-times to their rights to even exist, much less to be respected, she delivers a powerful performance showcasing what sets them apart – Black Girl Magic,” writes our editor in chief, BE’N ORIGINAL”
Truitt discusses the day she decided to pursue a career in acting, the shows importances in regards to race relations, and her experiences working with Methodman and Mykelti Williamson.
“My hope’s that it will attract people from all backgrounds and ethnic groups to watch BET so our stories can be heard and be told by people who look like us. We need to see more reflections of ourselves on television. It is also a goal for our stories to be shared with people who don’t look like us who don’t deal with the same things we deal with so that they can become enlightened.”
