The Blank Panther’s sister, Shuri, is getting her own spinoff series with Marvel Entertainment.
Following The Avengers: Infinity War, Wakanda was left without its leader T’Challa a.k.a. The Black Panther. It seems only right that the genius Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, 24, carries on her brother’s legacy.
According to CNN, in the synopsis presented at by Marvel Shuri will battle between her love for technology versus Wakanda, knowing “a nation without a leader is a vulnerable one,”
Nigerian-American Nnedi Okorafor, author of Marvel’s “Black Panther: Love Live the King” and “Wakanda Forever,” will also be the author for said series, while Leonardo Romera will partner as illustrator.
The series is set to release in October and with the success of the movie Black Panther the series should be a top seller!
Black Panther has grossed upwards of $700 million since its premiere on February 16. The action packed movie tells the story of a superhero who was the leader of Wakanda, a sub-Saharan Africa mythical island. The mostly black cast stole the show, holding the number one spot for 21 consecutive weeks post-release.
Shuri screams #blackgirlmagic and we cannot hold on to our seats tight enough!
