NBA power forward Lamar Odom is planning to take his athletic skills to an unknown professional Chinese basketball team.
The former Los Angeles Lakers player made the announcement on his Instagram on Thursday:
“My heart literally warms up now I can finally share with you all that I’m returning to play Basketball. I will be playing in China! God is good! Thanks lord for giving me another chance in life and thank you fans for your the love and support during all those hard years. Never give up on yourself and keep believing that only god can create the miracles you’re hoping for.”
Odom, 38, openly battled different drug addictions, but since an overdose in 2015 has fought daily for his sobriety.
Over the span of his NBA career he has averaged 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists
Last week, Odom was in a New York Hooters when gunshots were fired. Though he immediately with fans that he was indeed safe and that he was not involved in the incident.
The father of three is working overtime to make sure he changes his life and his motivation comes directly from his children and the love of his favorite sport, basketball.
