In response to rising number of senseless death of young acts due to gang culture, Hot 97’s DJ Drewski has announced that he will no longer play gang related diss songs or music.
In a Instagram post, the radio personality who is known to champion of underground hip hop artists, made it clear where he stands.
“I’m not supporting no more diss/gang music!
“If ya dissing each other in the songs, don’t even send it to me!
“I don’t care if the artist sends it, the label sends it, your big Homie sends it!
” I will not support or play anymore Diss/Gang records on the radio!
“We r losing too many young men and women to the streets!”
The announcement follows the death of a young 22-year-old Brooklyn rapper TDott Woo who was fatally shot this Tuesday (February 1, 2022) in the neighborhood where he grew up shortly after being signed to a record label.
