Las Vegas Aces Take Game 2 in a WNBA Finals Win Over Connecticut Suns

The Las Vegas Aces are one win away from clinching their first WNBA title. For the Connecticut Sun, no team in the history of the WNBA playoffs has ever come back from a 2-0 deficit.  Neither team has won a WNBA title. Game 3, tomorrow 9/15, will be a nail-biter and a must-watch, for sure.

In Game 02, it was clear that Kelsey Plum wasn’t her usual self on the court. Teammate, A’ja Wilson, took notice and tapped into her leadership skills by giving Plum some much-needed words. “I told her she needed to get her sh*t together.

The much-needed words of encouragement helped lead the Aces to a Game 2 victory, with Wilson, Plum, and Chelsea Gray combining for 67 points! They are the third trio in WNBA Playoffs history to score at least 20 points in a playoff game on multiple occasions.

Wilson and Gray have been dominating the postseason, especially in this series. And they’ll need to continue to do so if they want to take this series, and win their first championship title. For Plum, her game has been a bit inconsistent, finishing Game 1 with just six points. Her teammates needed and will need more productivity from her if they’re going to win it all.

A lot of times I’m hard on myself and I feel like I’ve been little bit frustrated [with] how I’ve performed throughout the whole playoffs. I’m glad that they have been carrying it and I decided to join the party,” Plum stated.

In the playoffs, Plum hasn’t contributed much, offensively, but on the flip side, she’s been rebounding more (4.1 rpg) and dishing out assists, allowing her teammates to flourish offensively. Overall, Plum’s growth is undeniable, and the Aces are hoping her contributions will help them win a title.
