Rotation, the hip-hop and R&B brand from Amazon Music, has launched “Forever the Influence,” celebrating Black Music Month by honoring the contributions of Black artists, producers, and songwriters. As part of this initiative, Amazon Music has announced a City Sessions concert featuring Grammy and Golden Globe winner Andra Day.

The concert will be broadcast live from the Warwick in Los Angeles on June 7. Day will perform hits from her new album, “CASSANDRA (cherith)” released by Warner Records. The performance will be available to stream on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video starting at 6 p.m. PDT.

City Sessions is Amazon Music’s premier live-streamed concert series, showcasing artists in intimate settings. This series offers fans a chance to see live performances and hear artists discuss their craft.

“In June, we celebrate Black Music Month by honoring Black artists whose works are potent reminders that Black music is the American songbook across a multitude of genres,” said Sierra Lever, head of hip-hop and R&B for Amazon Music. “With ‘Forever the Influence,’ fans around the world will have a front-row seat to live performances from artists who are continuing to expand the reach of black music and cultural influence across generations.”

Throughout June, Amazon Music will release additional video content and Amazon Music Originals from influential Black artists. Listeners can also enjoy Black Culture Radio, which features a mix of R&B, soul, gospel, hip-hop, country, house, and rock.

The station will be introduced by journalist Dyana Williams, known as “The Mother of Black Music Month,” who helped establish the observance with Kenny Gamble and Ed Wright.

Later this month, fans can watch an in-depth conversation between Williams and Andra Day on Amazon Music. Additional special programming for Black Music Month will be announced in the coming weeks.
