Drowning out all the noise, Angel Reese has stepped into the WNBA with unmatched energy. Just five games into her professional career, Reese has already made league history. In a matchup against the Seattle Storm this past Tuesday, the 6-foot-3 Chicago Sky forward notched 12 rebounds. Adding to her total count, thus far, Reese cemented herself as the second WNBA player to record 24 offensive rebounds through her first five games—only Yolanda Griffith, has more at 31.
This should come as too much of a surprise, however, especially if you have been following Reese’s career throughout her time at LSU. Reese ended her collegiate career at No. 5 on the all-time NCAAW offensive rebound list, finishing No. 16 all-time in total rebounds, as well.
Against Seattle, Reese also secured her first career double-double, becoming the first Sky player since Sylvia Fowles to record one within her first five games.
