amanie-illfated

South Sudanese born international recording artist Amanie Illfated musical creativity and personal experiences sets her apart from other artists, allowing her to carve a lane that is all her own.

When did you start performing?

When I was younger (around six-years-old) my sister and I were performing traditional dances live. We did this for a few years. Following that, I started to work on singing live. My first time performing my own music solo was when I was 17 years old.

How would you describe your style?

The best way I’ve heard my music described is “like the African M.I.A”. My music is very eclectic and dabbles in many genres including Afropop and R&B.

What separates you from other artists?

I would say the thing that differentiates me from other artists would be my genre blending and the stories in my music.

Name some of the major artists you have performed with or alongside?

I’m looking forward to performing with many large artists in the near future, but as of yet, I’ve shared the stage with Just John, Kobo Town, Emmanuel Jal and Dynamq.

Do you have any major offers on the table?

I’ve got a lot of wonderful things in the works that I can’t say! In the meantime, I’ve gotten to work on some great campaigns with PUMA and VIVAIA.

What advice would you offer other aspiring artists?

Always stay persistent. The moment you stop working towards your goal is the moment it begins to fade away.
