Urban Magazine Publisher Be’n Original took Dr. Boyce to the shed in a recent editorial on rap site, Allhiphop.com over his comments the latter made in a recent interview.
During the nearly one-hour interview, Watkins made several comments referring to people who disagreed with Ice Cube’s attempt to bargain with current president Donald Trump for Contract With Black Americans as slaves.
“I was offended that he would refer to not only Angela Rye and Roland Martin, but any African American in such a disrespectful way, especially considering that he as a Black man should know better,” explains Be’n Original. “I get that he was trying to interject himself into the conversation for attention and felt the need to make it as jaw-dropping as possible, but there’s some things we should never say for effect.”
While explaining that believing Donald Trump, who has consistently condemned the Black Lives Matter movement, would be a bringer of hope for the black community is lunacy, our publisher alleges that Watkins motive is very much self-serving.
“Boyce wants to be a celebrity so bad that he inserts himself in situations for attention, often at the expense of other Black Americans. While he has built a following, he wildly unpopular within our community, especially among Black women. In my book, he’s an enemy of the culture.”
