ABC has officially terminated production of the reboot of Roseanne Barr’s self-titled television show after she tweeted a racist insult about former President Barack Obama’s aide Valerie Jarrett.
“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr replied via Twitter to a conspiracy theoretic tweet accusing Jarrett of cover up various crimes by Obama’s administration.
Wanda Sykes, a consulting producer of the show, quit shortly after the rant which some believe led ABC to end its relationship with Barr.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey explained.
This comes after rumors of ABC personnel being frustrated with Barr’s behavior on social media.
