While a lot of folks watch the Super Bowl due to their love for football, there are just as many people who tune in for the TV ads! Deemed as “high-profile” television commercials, Super Bowl commercials have become a cultural phenomenon of their own. From cinematic quality, star-studded appearances, special effects, and to the entertainingly humorous and unpredictable, they’ve become a must-watch. With extremely high viewership, these spots are highly sought after by the biggest consumer brands.
So, it’s no surprise that two of the biggest Hip Hop stars are taking part in a Super Bowl commercial. Superstar couple, Cardi B and Offset are showcasing their love in what is reportedly a Valentine’s Day-themed commercial for McDonald’s. As you know, the big game is set for a Feb. 12 airing, just a couple of days before the holiday.
Sources reportedly told TMZ that the ad was shot over the recent Christmas holiday with a small crew. They also confirmed that the couple’s kids were not present for the shoot. For Cardi B, this will be her second Super Bowl commercial, after starring in a Pepsi commercial in 2019.
For the couple, Super Bowl will forever be etched into their relationship’s history. Offset actually took Cardi B to Super Bowl LI in Houston for their first date.
With both stars expected to release new music, their commercial debut as a duo comes just in time. As you might have heard in her recent Breakfast club interview, Cardi will drop her long-awaited sophomore album sometime this year, and her hubby is teaming up with Hit-Boy for a drop this Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
