Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso led the Chicago Sky to an 88-87 win over the Indiana Fever on Sunday, making history as the first WNBA rookie teammates since 1998 to each record 15+ points and 10+ rebounds in the same game. Reese, who registered 25 points and 16 rebounds, is one double-double away from tying Candace Parker’s single-season record. Cardoso scored a career-high 16 points, with their combined 26 rebounds surpassing the Fever’s total of 25.
“I didn’t want this one to slip out of our hands,” Reese said of the comeback win. “Having teammates that believe in each other helped us pull it off today.”
Chennedy Carter added 23 points for the Sky. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 24 points, while rookie Caitlin Clark had 17 points and a franchise-high 13 assists. The Sky, now 6–9, has shown improvement and will face the Fever again on August 30.
