Chris Paul has undoubtedly become one of the NBA’s greatest point guards. His exceptional NBA career has earned him numerous accolades and respect. At 37 years old, Chris looks to expand his legacy outside of the game he loves, and into noble causes – like supporting Historically Black Colleges & Universities!
Chris recently sat down with Complex for an interview, delving more into his involvement. He discussed the differences between HBCUs and PWIs, NBA players who have come from HBCUs, creating viable pathways to the NBA for kids, and more.
For Chris, his genuine interest, love, and support for HBCUs continue to be reflected in his work in the Black community.
“For me, it’s always something that is front of mind, and it’s something that is real. When that’s the case, you have people who want to pour into it. It’s not just about a Tweet or an Instagram post, but about the real-time and dollars that can go into these universities and help.”
It truly is great to see Black celebrities and notable figures supporting Historically Black Colleges & Universities. Instilling the history, and importance into the minds of future Black leaders is pivotal in our forward, and upward, progress.
