This Saturday, Dallas College Cedar Valley Campus will host the Civilized Fest: Civic Pulse Edition, a vibrant celebration of music, community, and civic engagement. Hip hop and reality TV star Scrappy will headline the festival, which features performances from a diverse array of artists, including YO.STUD, ADEN, Chris Wesley & Up, and the dynamic ShySpeaks.
More than just a music festival, Civilized Fest aims to educate and empower the community. Attendees will have the chance to participate in curated panels hosted by Dallas Weekly and Urban Specialists, focusing on key topics around civic engagement and community empowerment. A Community Resource Center, sponsored by Metro Health, will also offer free health screenings on site.
In a push for civic involvement, on-site voter registration will be available, encouraging festival-goers to make sure their voices are heard in future elections.
The day will also feature a Texas vs. Louisiana Block Party, complete with the Sounds of the South Battle of the Bands, where Lancaster High School will go head-to-head with Carter High School. The event also includes a DJ battle, pitting DJ Don Perryon from Texas against Louisiana’s DJ Chase, promising an energetic soundtrack to the festivities.
General admission to the event is free, but VIP tickets—offering exclusive perks—are available for $50.
Join the celebration this Saturday at Dallas College Cedar Valley Campus, 3030 N. Dallas Ave., Lancaster, TX 75134. For more information and to secure tickets, visit civilizedfest.com.
