This morning, GRAMMY® Award-nominated rapper, songwriter, producer, and G.O.O.D. Music artist CyHi The Prynce shares a brand new triumphant freestyle, appropriately entitled “Legend,” exclusively on Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning Show. Listen to it HERE
It’s the first taste of what’s to come from his anxiously awaited full-length debut album, No Dope On Sunday—out early this summer via his new label Brooklyn Knights/Sony RAL. Executive produced by Kanye West and featuring CyHi’s most production on a project to date, this marks his first release under the venture.
It’s a massive month for the Stone Mountain, GA hip-hop influencer, and impresario. He’s nominated for a total of three top honors at the 2017 GRAMMY® Awards, including “Best Rap Song” for co-writing “Famous” and “Ultralight Beam” from Kanye West’s chart-dominating The Life of Pablo.
“Legend” illuminates every facet of this dynamic talent. Beginning with a gritty soul sample, the track quickly snaps into a robust verse enforced by CyHi’s smart, sharp, slick rhymes and delivery. The airtight hook, “I’m a legend,” proves completely appropriate. Next up, he’ll uncover the powerful and politically charged “Nu Africa” in recognition of Black History Month.
CyHi takes his new music on the road this spring with a series of unforgettable and undeniable performances- he’s set to open Lil Wayne’s upcoming college tour. Beginning April 4 in Gainesville, FL at University of Florida, nine dates are confirmed so far. Check out the full itinerary below.
He also announces his new management team Al Branch and Gee Roberson at Blueprint Group/Maverick. About his signing to BPG, Branch comments, “The Maverick team is honored to be a part of CyHi’s burgeoning career. He’s one of the most talented songwriters, producers, and artists of our times.”
In addition to a string of acclaimed mixtapes such as 2014’s Black Hystori Project and 2015’s Black Hystori Project 2: N.A.A.C.P. both executive produced by Kanye West, CyHi has attracted the spotlight on some of modern hip-hop’s most influential releases. He’s featured prominently on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010, G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer in 2012, and co-wrote nine of Yeezus’s ten epic tracks. He achieved a prestigious BMI Award for co-writing “FourFiveSeconds” by Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul McCartney and has remained one of hip-hop’s most coveted secret weapons throughout the past decade. However, the secret is out this year with No Dope On Sunday.
