According to Billboard, Cyntoia Brown, who was granted clemency last week, is said to be married to rapper J. Long, who was previously a member of R&B group Pretty Ricky. After being confirmed by her representative, Wes Long, it was announced that she now goes by Brown-Long.
Brown-Long includes further details about the relationship in her upcoming book, ‘Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System.’ The book is due for release on October 15.
Long, whose real name is Jamie Long, was a member of Pretty Ricky during their prime. He was also formerly married to r&b group Total’s Pamela Long.
Pretty Ricky rose to fame during the mid-2000s with their hit single, ‘Grind with Me,’ and a hit album to follow. Most recently, the group toured with B2K, Mario, Lloyd, amongst others on the Millenium Tour earlier this year.
Brown-Long is currently on probation and will remain so for the next ten years, so long as she does not violate any state and/or federal laws. As part of the conditions of her release, she is required to regularly attend counseling sessions and keep a steady job.
