On the latest episode of Cam’ron and Mase’s “It Is What It Is” sports talk show, seven-time NBA All-Star, Damian Lillard, sat down with the fellas to reflect on a few topics. One, in particular, had Lillard opening up about Golden State as he shared his thoughts on superteams.
“As far as like Golden State, I respect what they’ve been doing over the last eight, nine years or whatever, and I’m from there obviously. That’s home. But I can’t be a part of that. They’ve won four championships.. like what I look like going to try to do that and say oh I’m joining my home team. Like no.”
Other topics that Dame discussed included his alleged beef with Jordan Poole. The rumors were fueled by the trash talk that occurred at a game during Poole’s rookie year.
“I think Steph [Curry] was hurt, their whole team was hurt, so it was a bunch of young dudes on the court. We’re playing them, [Poole] did a little step back, he hit a three on me,” Dame shared. It was at that moment that Poole started talking smack. According to Dame, Poole didn’t ease off until later in the game.
At the free-throw line, Dame confronted Poole.
“I turned around like, man shut up. He was like ‘You shut me up.’ He was on that. So then I felt like it turned into that, so I felt like something gotta happen. So that’s kinda where I took it. We both started talking, so I just started talking to him crazy.”
