Devale and Khadeen Ellis announced Wednesday that their podcast Dead Ass with Khadeen and Devale will relaunch as Ellis Ever After on April 16, 2025.
The iHeartRadio show, known for its candid conversations on relationships and culture, will return with a refreshed format, new guest hosts, and expanded topics. Original contributors Tribble, Josh Dwain and Matt Ellis will join as permanent guest hosts.
“We are so grateful to every listener, subscriber and supporter that has been part of our Dead Ass family,” the Ellises said in a joint statement. “You have continued to allow us to evolve and reach for new heights as a family, and we are so excited to embark on this new chapter together.”
The couple said Ellis Ever After will keep the essence of Dead Ass, while offering more personal and in-depth conversations.
“Don’t worry – Ellis Ever After will still have all the Dead Ass elements you know and love, but will allow us to dig even deeper into the topics that are on our hearts and minds as we continue to grow as people and as parents,” they said.
First launched in 2019, Dead Ass drew 150,000 downloads per episode and featured guests such as President Joe Biden and Regina Hall. It also completed a sold-out national tour.
The Ellises, married for 14 years, are actors, bestselling authors and parents to four sons. Devale stars in BET+’s Zatima and the Netflix film Meet Me Next Christmas. Khadeen appears in Tyler Perry’s BRUH and Will Packer’s BIGGER. They co-produce Broadway’s Othello, the highest-grossing play in Broadway history.
