Eagle Academy Foundation Marks 20th Anniversary with Gala Event

The Eagle Academy Foundation commemorated two decades of empowering young men with a celebratory gala held at the prestigious Ziegler Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan. Hosted actress/comedian Kerry Coddett, the event highlighted the foundation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities and mentorship to underserved communities.

Founded in 2004, the Eagle Academy Foundation has established a legacy of fostering academic excellence, leadership, and personal development among young men of color across its network of schools. The gala served not only as a milestone celebration but also as a fundraiser to further support the foundation’s initiatives.

“It is our responsibility to be more and do more for young men,” said Dr. Donald M. Ruff, President & CEO of the Eagle Academy Foundation. “This work is bigger than any of us, but it requires all of us.”

The evening featured keynote addresses from prominent educators and community leaders, highlighting the impact of the foundation’s work in transforming lives and promoting equity in education.

Throughout the gala, attendees enjoyed performances by talented students and heard inspiring stories of resilience and triumph from Eagle Academy graduates who have gone on to excel in various fields.

Living up to his name, “The Fundraising Guy,” Harry Santa-Olalla smashed the event’s fundraising goals, thanks to exciting auction items such as trips to Italy and Mexico and a unique opportunity to meet New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson.

As the Eagle Academy Foundation looks ahead to the future, it remains committed to expanding its reach and empowering more young men through education and mentorship, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed academically and beyond.
