Former NBA Player, Stephen Jackson, Slams Kanye West Over George Floyd Comments

Former NBA player, Stephen Jackson, wasn’t too pleased with Kanye West’s recent commentary. During his highly-discussed appearance on the newest Drink Champs episode, Ye decided to speak on George Floyd. Whether it was out of context or not, Ye went on to incorrectly claim that Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose.

“If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.”

Many have already taken to social media to share their reactions and voice their concerns, including Stephen Jackson. Utilizing his Instagram platform, Jackson uploaded a video where he indirectly criticizes Ye.

t’s all noted. To say u a Legend in music @kanyewest it’s sad that u still gotta talk about other people’s lives to be relevant is wack.” See his full Instagram post and caption below.

Jackson, who played 14 seasons in the NBA for the Nets, Hawks, Pacers, Warriors, Bucks, Bobcats, Spurs, and Clippers, may be far removed from his playing days, but is not out of touch with what is happening, culturally.

Jackson also shared his observations on how people have suddenly shifted their attitudes toward Floyd. “The new hustle is talking about him and dissin’ him. All that shit is weak. All y’all clout chasin’. All y’all look sad.
