Interview: Rachel Cara – The Return

Success in the music business is a hard thing to come by. Rachel Cara returns to from a hiatus with great music and a new sound.

We featured you some time ago. In what ways has your career progressed since then?
My career has definitely developed in a lot of positive ways. I had a “funk” for a few months near the end of 2019, however the trials and tribulations that I had dealt with and went through have helped me elevate my songs, lyrics and creativity 100%. Now I am putting in more work than I ever have and I am already seeing a rise in responses and feedback and it feels really good to share my voice, thoughts, and feelings with the world.

Tell us about your new approach to music.
I definitely knew I had to take a new approach on my music. There are so many talented, outstanding artists that are emerging every single day, so I had to figure out a way to stand out and I realized to do that, I just need to be my true self, believe in myself more than ever and just keep grinding and no looking back. Create a platform, brand and vibe that the world can rock with.

You have very consistent with your craft, how do you stay focused?
Staying focused can be difficult, if your head is not in the right space. There were times where I wouldn’t release content for months, and I realized this is not going to get me anywhere! I really had to open up my heart and let my guard down, even with those around me , so I could really dive into what I have been wanting to release to the world. Coffee and a little bit of wine helps too haha.

How has building a home studio made things better for you?
Building a home studio has made my life SO much easier and has made me slowly blossom into what I have been wanting to be. I can create whenever I want, however I want. Building this home studio was one of the toughest things I have had to do, I am not a techy at all, however the days and weeks of work put into it has definitely paid off. I already released a couple of songs on Apple, Spotify, etc. and will be recording my new album Pandemic in the home studio as well!

What has been the response to your new single?
The response to “Champagne Mami” has been pretty dope. I of course get constructive criticism from friends, family and fans even. Although, most of the feedback has been amazing. I definitely am still learning how to produce my own music so there is a long road of learning ahead of me, but that just means even more and better music is coming your way. “Champagne Mami” and “J U S T W A I T” is just the beginning.

Share with us the biggest lesson you’ve learn so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned in this career so far, has been patience, consistency, and don’t take everything to heart. Patience helps you make the best decisions for my career, consistency keeps me in the game and relevant, and if you can’t handle a few or even a lot of haters, then entertainment probably won’t be for you. I have let people in the past make me think I won’t become successful, but I have learned to turn that hate into motivation.

A lot of people come and go over time, how do you manage the company you keep?
During this time of emerging, learning and slowly becoming more and more successful I definitely pay attention to who adds good to my life and who doesn’t. I have had to cut a lot of negative people and energy from my life recently in order to move forward, and I will say it has made a major difference. Stick with those few people who really see you for who you are, and who support you no matter where you are in life. Day ones, you know where you at!!

What should your fans expect from you in the immediate future?
June 2020 I am releasing my very first album “Pandemic”. It will be some original songs we all know from the past, and a bunch of new unreleased music that I have been working on this past year. It will be released on all music platforms in June and I really hope you all love it and take something positive from this project! l us about your novel approach to music.
