“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me.”
Ja Morant. What in the actual f*ck are you doing? Trying to find an ounce of sincerity, in yet another statement, is proving to be difficult. Once again, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard has found himself in the spotlight. And for all the wrong reasons.
With his inevitable suspension, Morant issued a statement just about an hour ago, taking responsibility for his reckless behavior. Effective immediately, Morant is suspended from all team activities as the league investigates the incident from this weekend.
Ja Morant statement: “I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”

If you recall, Morant served an eight-game suspension earlier in the season for a very similar incident. Back in March, Morant was seen flashing a gun inside a Colorado nightclub. He returned from suspension, just in time to play in the team’s first-round series against Los Angeles. But clearly, that punishment wasn’t enough.
“Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend. We’re in the process of investigating it. We’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. But I’m assuming the worst. We’ll figure out what happened here.” – Adam Silver
