HOUSTON, TX — World-renowned artist Janet Jackson, a five-time GRAMMY® Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® Inductee, is set to grace the stage with a full-length performance at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas on December 1, 2023. This extraordinary musical event is part of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s (AHF) World AIDS Day Concert and carries a profound mission: to raise awareness and support for HIV/AIDS.

World AIDS Day is an annual commemoration, a time to remember those we’ve lost to the devastating grip of HIV/AIDS, and to stand in solidarity with those who are currently battling the disease. It serves as a poignant reminder that the fight against HIV/AIDS is far from over.

Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe-winning choreographer, director, and producer, Debbie Allen, will take the stage at the event to share her insights and support for this vital cause. In addition, AHF will honor Emmy Award-winning actor and renowned activist Blair Underwood with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Janet Jackson’s upcoming performance holds a special significance, as it follows her highly successful North American “Together Again” tour, which is now the highest-grossing tour of her illustrious career. The tour’s title pays tribute to her 1997 hit song “Together Again,” a heartfelt dedication to a dear friend lost to AIDS, as well as a powerful message of remembrance for AIDS victims and their families across the globe.

Blair Underwood, the recipient of AHF’s Lifetime Achievement Award, has been a steadfast advocate in the fight against HIV/AIDS for over three decades. The acclaimed television, film, and stage actor co-founded “Artists for a New South Africa,” an organization dedicated to addressing the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on families and children throughout the continent. In 2003, Underwood joined forces with Ashley Judd as a spokesperson for YouthAIDS, expanding his advocacy and partnership with AHF, particularly focusing on Washington, D.C., a city with the highest HIV cases per capita, nearly three times the national average.

Over the years, AHF’s World AIDS Day Concert has featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, and Mariah Carey. The organization has presented its esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award to a diverse range of advocates, including Harry Belafonte, Debbie Allen, and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), as well as posthumously to Princess Diana.

The concert tickets, aimed at furthering HIV/AIDS awareness and support, are now available for purchase through Ticketmaster, starting from Friday, October 13, 2023. This extraordinary evening promises not only a fantastic musical performance but also a meaningful contribution to the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a crucial cause and enjoy the talent of one of music’s most iconic figures.
