One of the NBA’s elite players made his return this past Wednesday, after sitting out for the last 52 days due to an MCL injury. “I missed playing,” said Kevin Durant. “I missed being out on the floor, going over strategy, just talking with the guys, the camaraderie, all that stuff.”
In regards to suiting up for his new team, “I feel like I fit in pretty well. I’ve just got to keep grinding, man, and this jersey on me will look normal as the games go on. I’m glad I got to get back out there on the floor today.”
KD wasn’t the only one expressing gratitude, as his new teammates all showed their excitement and appreciation for the game-high 37 points he dropped against the Charlotte Hornets.
“This is one of those moments that doesn’t really feel real. It’s fun, I’ll tell you that. You could feel the energy. You could feel the confidence throughout the team. That’s what the great ones do. He might not be the loudest person in the locker room, but his work speaks for itself. It’s definitely contagious from top to bottom,” said teammate, and Suns guard, Devin Booker.
With KD inserted into the line-up that already includes Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton, the Suns have devastating potential. How Coach Williams manages KD’s workload and minutes is critical to how the Suns will continue to advance throughout the season.
