On Friday, June 9th,  The HBCU Week Foundation, Inc. held its 4th annual HBCU Week Awards Gala presented by Bank of America at the Hotel Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware.

This sold-out black-tie fundraiser brought out corporate executives and philanthropic sponsors to help elevate the organization’s powerful mission of providing scholarship dollars for students enrolling in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and honor individuals who have demonstrated a significant commitment to the HBCU Week Foundation’s mission.

Attendees included HBCU Week’s 2023 honorees: activist Tamika Mallory (Social Impact Award) and actor/Howard University alumnus Lance Gross (Trailblazer Award). In addition, executives such as Chip Rossi, Delaware President, Bank of America, Stephen Briggs, VP of Community Relations at Wells Fargo, and Charles Chapman, GM’s Multicultural Marketing Manager, were in attendance as well.

The mission of the HBCU Week Foundation is to encourage high-school aged youth to enroll into HBCUs, provide scholarship dollars for matriculation and sustain a pipeline for employment from undergraduate school to corporate America. The most impactful event during HBCU Week is the HBCU College Fair. HBCU Week Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
