According to reports, rapper Lil Wayne is publicly disputing surprisingly low estimates of his net worth found on the internet.
On multiple websites, the Young Money boss’ worth is stated to be somewhere over $150 million.
However, during a 2016 interview with The Nine Club, he claimed he was worth far less.
“Honestly, I’m gonna let everybody know now, when you go check a motherfucker’s net worth and that shit be saying some crazy numbers, I don’t have cent close to that shit.”
As the CEO of a record label that once was the recording home to two of the biggest acts in hip-hop–Nicki Minaj and Drake–many would believe he would now be exceedingly wealthier.
However, due to Young Money being an imprint under the Cash Money label, it is possible the net profit was substantially less than many would expect.
