Live Nation Urban and the Culture Creators Foundation have joined forces to introduce Lil’ WeezyCon, a new addition to the annual Lil’ WeezyAna Fest. This day-long convention, slated for Nov. 2, will offer attendees a chance to hear from leaders in entertainment, art, and business. The event will be held at The Fillmore New Orleans from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to the public.
Lil’ WeezyCon is designed to give young people direct access to thought leaders and creators through networking, panels, and community engagement. College students, local community groups, and high school seniors are expected to benefit from interactions with established professionals and experts in entertainment and entrepreneurship. College students from Dillard University will assist in producing the event, and volunteers from LSU, Xavier University, and other local institutions will also contribute.
“We knew we wanted to do something special with this year’s festival,” said Brandon Pankey, Vice President of Live Nation Urban. “Tapping the Culture Creators Foundation to help us create Lil’ WeezyCon felt like the perfect way to engage the community and bring college students into the mix. This partnership allows us to expand beyond music and create an experience that leaves a lasting impact on young professionals and emerging creators.”
Attendees can look forward to appearances from prominent industry voices, including Adie von Gontard, CEO of YMAPAA Sports; Andrew Sanchez, co-founder of Udio.ai; Joi Brown, founder of Culture Creators Foundation; and musician Tarionna “Tank” Ball of Grammy-nominated band Tank and The Bangas. They’ll cover topics from industry trends to media representation, creative entrepreneurship, and social impact.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with LiveNation Urban to create Lil’ WeezyCon, where we can bring together the brightest minds and most influential voices from across the industry to inspire and uplift future generations,” said Joi Brown, CEO of Culture Creators Foundation.
In addition to the panels and workshops, college students with valid student IDs will enjoy VIP access, offering exclusive networking opportunities with speakers. Complimentary food, provided by event sponsor Wright, Gray, and Harris Law Firm, will be available to energize attendees throughout the day.
The festivities kick off on Friday, Nov. 1, with a pre-party at The Fillmore New Orleans, starting at 7 p.m. The weekend concludes on Sunday with the Lil’ WeezyAna Fest Thank You Brunch at the House of Blues, hosted by Cita and Reginae, featuring special guest Rude Jude.
