TORONTO — Police have cordoned off areas around Drake’s Toronto residence following reports of a shooting early Tuesday morning.
The incident unfolded just after 2 a.m. outside the Canadian rapper’s home, according to local news outlets City News and CBC News.
Toronto Police acknowledged the incident via a social media post on Tuesday, confirming that a man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, as detailed in the police update.
Authorities have yet to provide a description of the suspect or the vehicle involved.
Contrary to initial concerns, Drake himself was unharmed during the altercation, police confirmed to City News.
Drake has been in the news recently due to a prolonged feud with fellow rap star Kendrick Lamar, which has been marked by a series of contentious diss tracks released over several weeks.
