Basketball season is upon us.
The NBA released its 2022-23 regular season schedule this week, including the broadcast lineup for TNT, ESPN, ABC, NBA TV and ESPN Radio. And we’re excited af.
Personally, I’ve been watching basketball since I was a little girl, so this time of year is always full of excitement. Heading into the NBA regular season, the 77th season since the League’s conception, we immediately notice some key matchups on opening night. On Tuesday, October 18th, the East and West each host a showdown of the conference’s best teams. Kicking off at 7:30 PM ET, the defending Eastern Conference Finals champions, the Celtics, face off against their rivals from Philly in TD Garden. Out West, Lebron and team go head-to-head against the defending NBA Finals champions, the Warriors. The Warriors will also be receiving their championship rings prior to tipoff. Both games will be nationally televised, of course.
The following night, in the NBA’s doubleheader, the Grizzlies host the Knicks while the Mavs and Suns close out the evening at 10 PM ET. And the week is still just getting started.
On Thursday, October 20th, the Sixers host Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks, as the Lakers and Clippers battle it out in Los Angeles to end the night. Wrapping up the week on Fri, October 21st, the Celtics suit up once again, this time visiting the Miami Heat – a team they beat in Game 7 of the ECF last season. As the beasts of the East duke it out, the Nuggets will face the Warriors in San Francisco – a rematch of 2022’s Western Conference First Round.

Rounding out the opening week of the NBA, NBA TV will tip off with live coverage of the San Antonio Spurs versus Sixers game on Saturday. The Mavericks will also host the Grizzlies down in Dallas later in the evening. Concluding on Sunday, October 23rd, the Suns take a trip to LA to play against the Clippers.
Another set of games that immediately caught my eye was the line-up for Christmas Day! The Celtics will host the Bucks in Boston in a 2022 Eastern Conference Semifinals rematch, while the Lakers visit the Mavericks. Also out west, the Grizzlies take on the defending Champs, as the Nuggets and Suns close out the holiday in Denver at 10:30 PM ET.
Between the draft, trades, and new coaches, it will be interesting to see how various teams adapt to the changes as they all make another run for the championship title.
