Rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has found himself in legal trouble after being apprehended by Utah authorities earlier this week. According to reports by KUTV 2 News Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Gaulden is under suspicion for his alleged involvement in a significant prescription fraud scheme aimed at acquiring Promethazine with Codeine.
Law enforcement documents suggest that Gaulden is linked to a network that has been attempting to obtain these substances using fraudulent means, including falsified identities. Monitoring of these activities reportedly began in September 2023.
The investigation has revealed instances where prescriptions were called in under fake names or unauthorized physicians, with attempts made to collect them. Notably, authorities uncovered prescriptions matching the false identities during a search of Gaulden’s residence. The presence of his identifiable vehicle, a Chevrolet Tahoe featured in his music videos, was noted during these operations.
Gaulden, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is facing a total of 63 charges related to these alleged offenses. Despite his denials of involvement, he remains detained in custody without bail as legal proceedings progress.
