New Artist: Projexx – Sweat (Official Music Video)

Projexx, a 25-year-old artist from Jamaica now based in Miami, is making an impact with his blend of Dancehall, Afrobeats, Trap, and Pop. Today, he releases “Sweat,” a summer anthem expected to dominate clubs, airwaves, and social media. The track is available through Warner Records.

“Sweat” is co-produced by Cadenza, known for working with Travis Scott, Beyoncé, Jorja Smith, Amaarae, and Gorillaz, and P2J, who produced hits like Wiz Kid’s “Essence” and Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.” The song features fluttering strings over a familiar Afropop kick and rimshot drum pattern. It incorporates elements of Caribbean and West African percussion, allowing Projexx to deliver addictive melodies.

“Sweat was born from text messages between me and a female,” Projexx explains. “We were talking about what we would do when we met up. I said, ‘With all that talking, let’s meet in person and make our fantasy a reality.'”
