Amber Mark, the critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer, has unveiled her latest single, “Won’t Cry,” a 3-minute, 40-second slice of soul-healing, electrified disco bliss. The track, reminiscent of Giorgio Moroder’s disco stylings fused with quiet storm vibes, was written, produced, and performed entirely by Mark. It will feature on her upcoming mini-project Loosies. Released via PMR / Interscope Records, the single is now available for streaming.
Fans have eagerly awaited “Won’t Cry” since May, when she teased an early version of the track on Instagram, capturing herself spontaneously composing and dancing to its infectious beat in her backyard. Over the song’s driving synth, she begins with a plea: “Dance floor, take me / Break me down, liberate me,” before delivering an empowering chorus: “No I won’t cry for an end that never began / I won’t waste my time on you, yeah.”
Reflecting on the song, Amber Mark says, “Going out dancing has always been a way for me to let go, and ‘Won’t Cry’ is the soundtrack to that feeling. It may be a little cliché, but sometimes you just gotta sweat out the drama and leave the mess on the dance floor while looking cute doing it.”
