Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Estelle has released her new single, “Oh I,” which is now available on all streaming platforms. This track serves as the lead single from her upcoming sixth studio album, scheduled for release later this fall.
Estelle co-wrote “Oh I” and worked with Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Harris, who also co-produced the track. The two previously collaborated on Estelle’s hit “American Boy.” Their renewed partnership on “Oh I” explores themes of choosing to make a change and committing to that choice.
For this single, Estelle drew inspiration from her British soul-pop roots and the international house music of the 1980s and 1990s, which she grew up listening to. Influences from artists like Jamiroquai, N’dea Davenport, Soul II Soul, Loose Ends, Robbie Williams, Beverley Knight, Mica Paris, Martha Wash, Rosie Gaines, and Sylvester can be heard throughout the song. “Pretty much everything I’ve absorbed from years of listening and moving through the world as a lover of music and being born in London showed up for me,” Estelle said of her creative process.
