Nicki Minaj is at it again. Once the biggest female rapper on the planet, the veteran seems to continue grasping for attention through controversy.
This time she mentions civil rights icon Rosa Park in a questionable metaphor that has Twitter ablazed.
“All you b*tches Rosa Parks, uh oh, get your ass up,” she says in her song “Yikes” referring to Parks’ refusal to leave her seat for a white person which helped sparked the civil rights movement.
Several Twitter users were outraged as this is not the first lack of respect for exemplar Black leaders. Nicki Minaj imitated Malcolm X’s famous photo of him holding an AK-47 for the cover of her single “Lookin’ Ass N*gga”.
At press time, Nicki has yet to respond to the backlash.
