Friday, around 11:30 p.m. Los Angeles, California rapper Nipsey Hussle was detained overnight for “obstructing a peace officer.”
The police had been called to the clothing store, Slauson Avenue Clothing on the 3400 block of West Slauson Avenue because of a probation complaint search. They arrested the man violating his probation, along with Hussle after the rapper allegedly interfered.
It’s unclear what Hussle did to get himself arrested, but his rep says Nipsey feels his apprehension was “unjust and without cause.”
He was released Saturday morning after posting $13,000 bail. The Crenshaw native’s management has released a statement regarding his arrest.
“… Nipsey Hussle was detained in an unsolicited random police probe near the flagship Marathon Clothing Store on Crenshaw Blvd. Police detained him and several other patrons while picking up food at a local restaurant. He was released Saturday morning with no charge.”
The rapper is slated to appear at the Made In America festival in Los Angeles August 31st. The festival is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to downtown’s Grand Park over the Labor Day weekend, including artists such as Kanye West, Iggy Azalea, Imagine Dragons and several dozen others.
Hussle’s reps continue to mention that the incident will not affect him performing at the Made In America festival in Los Angeles on Sunday.
