On Friday, June 12, 2015, the Women’s Prison Association (WPA) hosted a screening of Orange Is The New Black (OITNB) season three, episode one at The Ainsworth in Chelsea.
Following the screening, OITNB actresses Jackie Cruz (“Flaca”) and Taryn Manning (“Pennsatucky”) hit the stage and gave an incredible performance.
“It’s important to me to bring light to the real-life versions of our characters and to support WPA – they are the go-to organization for women with criminal justice histories and it’s an honor to advocate for their important work,” said Jackie Cruz.
All proceeds went towards the WPA, which helps women with criminal justice histories have a future with their families and communities.
