ATLANTA — In honor of the premiere of Peacock’s “Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist,” the streaming service is teaming up with local Black-owned businesses in Atlanta for a special event on Saturday, August 24. The event will offer throwback prices at historical landmarks featured in the series, including Paschal’s and the Clermont Hotel.
Based on the acclaimed iHeart true-crime podcast, the series delves into the notorious armed robbery during Muhammad Ali’s 1970 comeback fight, a pivotal moment that transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” Executive produced by Will Packer, the star-studded cast includes Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard.
As part of the celebration, Peacock highlights Atlanta’s rich cultural heritage by partnering with local artists E.L. Chisolm and Yuzly Mathurin to create custom murals at key locations. These murals will spotlight businesses such as Paschal’s and the Clermont Hotel, offering visitors a visual journey into the city’s vibrant past.
Additionally, Peacock has collaborated with West Coast Customs and their student academy to recreate CHICKEN MAN’s iconic 1966 Cadillac Calais, featured prominently in the series. This replica will tour Atlanta alongside other campaign stops.
Participating businesses will offer exclusive deals on August 24. Paschal’s, a renowned culinary institution, will feature 50¢ Sweet Teas and $2 Fried Chicken Sandwiches. Meanwhile, the Clermont Hotel’s Rooftop Bar will host a 70’s disco funk night with $4 drinks featuring Black-owned whiskey brands.
Other businesses joining the celebration include Tu La 2 Nail Salon, Versus ATL, Brooklyn Tea ATL, Sublime Donuts, Village at Ponce City, and Copper Cove, each offering unique discounts and themed products that capture the essence of 1970s Atlanta.
