Queen Latifah is the host for the 2018 Black Girls Rock!™ Awards show which will air on BET.
The electrifying awards show has shed a positive light on Black women across all fields and walks of life since 2006. It was founded by former DJ Beverly Bond and has been hosted by the likes of Nia Long and more.
The event will take place in Newark, NJ, which is the mogul’s hometown, making this a night to remember. The venue is New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).
It is no secret that Latifah exemplifies #blackgirlmagic with her legendary acting and music career. She has also worked alongside some of the greatest in the game including Jada Pickett Smith, LL Cool J, Tiffany Haddish, Alicia Keys, and many more.
Bond called Latifah “the epitome of black excellence, hip-hop royalty, and black girl magic!,” noting that Latifah has been honored at the award show in the past.
BET will premiere the show on Sunday, September 9 at 8:00 PM /ET.
