Child abuse advocacy group We Stand Up Coalition are accusing members of Wale’s camp fraudulently accepted payment for the MMG rapper to appear on a promotional song entitled, “Touched.”
Terrance Tykeem, filmmaker/author/singer and founder of the We Stand Up Coalition, started this campaign in collaboration with the non-profit agency [WSUC] to bring to light the human tragedy of child sexual abuse.
Tykeem and his staff state that they communicated directly with credible members of Wale’s team, specifically, Greg Harrison and a point man simply known as Lou (also known as Roy Anton Gantt), who negotiated a fee for services. Tykeem was led to believe that Wale agreed to a lower than normal fee due to “the positive nature of the ‘Touched’ campaign.”
According to the organization, upon receipt of the signed contract, the We Stand Up Coalition wired funds to a Western Union pick up location just outside of Washington D.C. Due to the dollar amount the funds had to be wired in two separate transactions. The funds were collected within minutes of the transfers.
Within days, Wale’s contact person allegedly began using countless stall tactics and eventually stopped responding to communications.
The lawsuit against the Rapper (filed in Maryland District Court in Prince George’s County, Case # CV050200210792014) alleges breach of contract. Tykeem is only seeking remand for breach of contract, return of monies paid plus fees associated with the wire transfers and court costs.
Tykeem is nearly finished filming ‘Touched’ the docu-drama, which features cameos from Mackenzie Phillips, Shar Jackson, Keyon Dooling, Adrian Paul, and others. He is determined to fulfill his mission of creating a child sexual abuse campaign that saturates all media (print, film, TV, internet, radio) and brings attention to this human tragedy.
