Recap: Cecilia The Celibate Screening

Yesterday, the Black Latina Movement hosted the New York screening of their new short film, “Cecilia The Celibate” at the Stuart Cinema and Cafe in Brooklyn.

Director Crystal Roman and Executive Producers Takema Jones and Shirley Reyes were in attendance, as well as cast members Jenelle Simone Valle (Gabriella), Omar Corominas (Clif), Randall Holloway (Dre) and Arlene A. McGruder (Ms. Bey), among others.

The event was moderated by Jes Perez. Guests had the opportunity to watch the 40 minute film and enjoyed an intimiate yet comical Q & A with the cast and crew about the realities of dating and practicing celibacy in New York City. Special guests included Novee Rose of NoveeRose.com, and We Come From Queens Podcast.
