Sarah Stokes Returns to Reality TV Sans Da Band

Fans of Diddy’s Making the Band 2 remember the disappointing ending that left members of Da Band unsigned and going their separate ways. Sara Stokes, the female singer of the group has had many ups and downs since the televised dismemberment.

After completing a two and a half month stint in prison on domestic violence charges, the BET cameras were there for her release and captured all the emotional moments.

On the new Centric show From the Bottom Up which is Executive Produced by Queen Latifah, Stokes gives fans an intimate look into her struggles of restarting her career, rebuilding the relationship between herself and the children and her troublesome 19 years of marriage to Tony Stokes. She holds nothing back and is not ashamed of anything.

Since Making the Band 2, she also went back to school and got her aesthetics degree. Her children, who are now grown, are also making their moves into music and entertainment industry.

Movie offers are rolling in and there should be an acting her debut in a lead/supporting role in the future (She can be seen in the crowd of the final battle scene of Eminem’s 8 Mile). An album is in the works and it is going to be for the grown and sexy.

At this stage, there’s no doubt that if Sara wants to be taken seriously in the game, then she has a lot of grinding to do.

Let’s hope that her husband or ex-husband (we will find out on the show the status of their relationship) does not sabotage this for her.

If you remember from the Making the Band 2 era, Tony was not always welcomed around.

As for Da Band members, they still continue to keep in touch with each other. Last July Sara released a single titled “Sneak Peek” featuring Babs.
