The sexual assault lawsuit against rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, stemming from allegations dating back to 2005, has been dismissed by a federal court. Judge Sherilyn Garnett of the United States District Court Central District of California dismissed the case, citing statute of limitations issues and a lack of sufficient evidence, according to court documents obtained by XXL.

The lawsuit, filed earlier this year by an unnamed Jane Doe, alleged that she was sexually assaulted by T.I. and Tiny after attending a party at Coolio’s house and subsequently meeting the couple at a Los Angeles club.

The accuser claimed she was given a spiked drink and later woke up in serious pain in a hotel room, alleging she had been sexually assaulted while unconscious.

In response to the dismissal, a representative for T.I. and Tiny told XXL, “The court agreed with Tip and Tameka that Jane Doe doesn’t appear to have any viable claims. As Tip and Tameka stated three years ago, these allegations are some of the many false, salacious allegations thrown out into the media in a cheap attempt to extort money from them.”

The lawsuit had been a looming legal issue for the celebrity couple, with the accuser first threatening legal action in 2021 before proceeding with the lawsuit earlier this year. T.I. had vehemently denied the allegations from the outset, declaring, “We are innocent of these fake claims, we will not be shaken down, and we look forward to our day in court.”

This development follows recent headlines involving T.I., who was mistakenly arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta earlier this week. The incident occurred on Sunday (Aug. 4) and was clarified as a case of mistaken identity.
