SHOWTIME’s New Series “HEIST 88,” to Premiere on Paramount+ October 1

LOS ANGELES — “HEIST 88,” an engaging drama, is set to debut on SHOWTIME, featuring Emmy-winning actor Courtney B. Vance known for “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” and “Lovecraft Country.” The series is a collaboration between MTV Entertainment Studios, Bassett Vance Productions, and Gunpowder & Sky.

Inspired by a major U.S. bank robbery, the film will exclusively stream on Paramount+ starting September 29, with SHOWTIME airing it on October 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

“HEIST 88” tells the true story of Jeremy Horne (Vance), a skilled criminal persuader. In his final audacious move before prison, Horne recruits four young bank workers for an audacious scheme to steal almost $80 million from the U.S. banking system.

Set in a pre-cybersecurity era, the series also features Keesha Sharp and Bentley Green, known for their work with Vance. It also includes Keith David, Xavier Clyde, Nican Robinson, and Precious Way.

Roles in “HEIST 88” include:

  • Keesha Sharp as Bree Barnes, a smart political consultant and Jeremy’s romantic interest.
  • Keith David as Buddha Ray, a safecracking mentor to Jeremy.
  • Xavier Clyde as Danny Pugh, a number-savvy comic book enthusiast disenchanted with his bank job.
  • Bentley Green as Marshall King, an energetic house DJ and Jeremy’s nephew.
  • Nican Robinson as Rick Windom, a long-serving bank employee aspiring to be a stockbroker.
  • Precious Way as LaDonna Sanders, a bright bank employee seeking recognition.

Scripted by Dwayne Johnson-Cochran and directed by Menhaj Huda, “HEIST 88” offers gripping storytelling. Executive producers include Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, and others from Bassett Vance Productions, along with Gunpowder & Sky and MTV Entertainment Studios.
