According to reports, former X-Factor contestant Simone Battle was found dead in a closet of her Los Angeles home.
The young singer was launched in the public eye during the first live show of the Fox television competition which led to her eventually becoming a member of RCA’s all female group G.R.L.
Founding member Robin Antin issued a joint statement with the record label on the tragedy.
“Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing,” the statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”
TMZ has reported that Battle’s death is likely an apparent suicide according to members of law enforcement.
