SiriusXM will air the latest chapter of its documentary series “The Last Mile Radioon Sunday, December 16 on both SiriusXM’s Urban View channel 126 and Triumph channel 111.  Presented by SiriusXM Shade 45 host and The Last Mile board member Sway Calloway, the special details the expansion of the ground-breaking prison program, at a time when prison reform is a prominent issue across the country.

“The Last Mile Radio” is SiriusXM’s impactful series about the pioneering prison program The Last Mile, which teaches inmates computer coding, technical and business skills, and follows its graduates as they prepare for life after prison.

A vision of venture capitalists Chris Redlitz and Beverly Parenti, The Last Mile began in 2010 inside the San Quentin State Prison in California. SiriusXM first brought to life the stories of some of the students who benefited from the program with an 8-part documentary series in 2017.  The Last Mile Radio won a Gracie Award and a Gold Radio Award from the New York Festivals.

For the latest episode, Sway traveled to the state of Indiana for the launch of The Last Mile program at the Pendleton Youth Correctional Facility and to handout diplomas to the first TLM graduating class inside the Indiana Women’s Prison.  In addition, Sway reunited with Jason Jones- a TLM graduate he first met and interviewed inside the San Quentin State Prison – who is now a free man.  The show also features interviews with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and award-winning rapper, businessman, and TLM board member MC Hammer.

The Last Mile program, which continues to boast a 0% recidivism rate, is currently offered at 8 prisons and will extend to several other states in 2019.
