A Los Angeles judge recently ordered singer Teairra Mari to pay Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson an increased amount of money in their current lawsuit, in addition to the $30,000 that she already owes the rapper.
Mari, who became popular in the mid-2000s after being signed to Def Jam Records by Jay-Z, sued Jackson last year for reposting an inappropriate picture of her on Instagram.
The judge, however, sided with Jackson over the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star in January. She was then ordered to pay the rapper for legal fees.
50 Cent, who is well-known for his taunting antics aside from his music, constantly made it a point to remind the singer to pay him on Instagram and even served her with legal documents in an airport.
Teairra Mari, stating that she is ‘broke, broke,’ retaliated with a song entitled, ‘I Ain’t Got it.’ The singer even began selling merchandise with the catchphrase on her own website.
Soon after, Jackson claimed to have trademarked the saying and began selling his own version of the merchandise.
Jackson then went back to the courts and requested more money. Mari insisted that his request was simply ‘harassment.’
The judge disagreed, however, and the singer was ordered to pay the rapper an additional $4,000.
