Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Usher headlined Northwell Health’s most recent Feinstein Institute for Medical Research annual summer concert, the facilities 14th. The performance raised over $3.4 million to fund medicinal innovations.

Kevin J. Tracey, MD, president and CEO of the Feinstein Institute, expressed his gratitude for the event. He said, “We are grateful to our benefactors and philanthropists – their support enables us to achieve our not-for-profit mission to produce knowledge to cure disease.”

Since its inception, the concert has raised over $25 million towards medical research and technology. It has helped Northwell to discover existing factors that influence medical treatments worldwide.

The chairman of Northwell’s Board of Trustees, Michael Epstein, stated, “As Northwell continues to grow, philanthropy is even more important to fulfilling our mission of improving the health and the lives of the people in our communities who rely on us.”

“Through the continued generosity of our organization’s supporters, staff and leadership, we are positioned to propel our philanthropic energy behind research to new heights. I’m excited to help lead that charge” he added.
