Newly obtained surveillance footage from 2016 shows Sean “Diddy” Combs physically assaulting singer Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway, a scene that echoes allegations from a recently settled lawsuit.
The video, aired exclusively by CNN on Friday, appears to capture Combs, wearing only a white towel, engaging in a violent altercation with Ventura, his then-girlfriend and protégé. The footage shows Combs punching and kicking Ventura, as well as shoving, dragging, and throwing a vase at her.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 5, 2016, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City. CNN confirmed the location by comparing the footage to publicly available photos of the hotel’s interior.
This footage comes amid a series of public allegations and revelations of physical and sexual violence involving Combs over the past several months. The video bears a striking resemblance to an incident described in a federal lawsuit filed by Ventura in November. In her complaint, Ventura, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, alleged years of sexual abuse and other violence perpetrated by Combs.
The lawsuit has since been settled, but the emergence of the video adds a visual dimension to Ventura’s accusations. The footage is expected to further fuel discussions on the pervasive issue of domestic violence within the entertainment industry.
Representatives for Combs and Ventura have not yet commented on the released video. The airing of this footage highlights the ongoing scrutiny and legal challenges faced by high-profile figures accused of abuse.
